Join us for an afternoon of Scripture readings and music on Sunday, December 10th at 3pm in the BLHS Chapel. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies to follow.
This annual Bishop Luers tradition is a sacred concert revolving around 9 Bible readings and 9 hymns pertaining to each reading. The readings, songs, and instrumental music are a perfect way to set the tone for the holiday season. Each of the nine lessons will provide reflection on the real reason of our Christmas season, and it is a unique opportunity to hear the current Bishop Luers High School Choir mixed with BLHS Alumni voices. This performance is a Sunday favorite for the Christmas Season and is a perfect way to celebrate the beauty of Christmas.

Summary: The musical tells the story of a young orphan who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is given the name Buddy and raised by elves in the North Pole. Buddy lives happily unaware that he is actually a human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of the holidays.

Today, students in Mrs. Didrick-Ream's AP Language and Composition course participated in the Halloween Smackdown! Each group was given the best and worst-ranked candies in America. Students had to use sensory details to describe each candy. Then, they read an argumentative article about Reese's Peanut Buttercups. Armed with this knowledge, they will then research their favorite candies, and tomorrow, students will argue for which Halloween candy they believe to be the best and worst. They will have to demonstrate their argumentative skills in group presentations.
