Career Readiness Program

Bishop Luers High School is excited to share expansions within the Career Technical Education Program (CTE)! This program provides Juniors and Seniors with hands-on learning in different career fields, including Medical, Education, Trades, and more!

BISHOP LUERS OFFERS THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:

UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS - HEALTH SCIENCES/NURSING
Bishop Luers is partnering with the University of Saint Francis (USF) to offer courses for Juniors and Seniors interested in pursuing a career in Health Sciences. All courses will be held on the USF Campus, with a dual credit option. This program offers direct access to college entry level courses. All courses transfer and apply toward further degree work. An associate degree is possible. Students must apply and be approved (some pre-requisites required). There are pathway options, which include a minimum of 75 clinical hours and a certification. Bishop Luers offers the a CNA pathway within Health Sciences, with exposure to the following:

  • Phlebotomy

  • Electrocardiography

  • EMT

  • LPN

  • Medical Billing

UNIVERSITY OF SAINT FRANCIS - EDUCATION
Bishop Luers is partnering with the University of Saint Francis (USF) to offer courses for Juniors and Seniors interested in pursuing a career in Education. This program offers direct access to college entry level courses. All courses transfer and apply toward further degree work. All courses will be held on the USF Campus during the morning, with dual credit options. Students must apply and be approved (some pre-requisites required). There are pathway options, which include a minimum of 75 clinical hours and a certification. Placements will be within local Catholic Grade Schools for field hours. An associate degree is possible.

ABC CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY
Building trades opportunities are available through the Association of Builders and Contractors (ABC) for Juniors and Seniors. There are many openings for this program. Students must contact their school counselor to apply and be approved. Certification is included for this program. Students completing the full 2-year cycle will receive an Associate Degree via Vincennes University as well as necessary licensure. Those who participate will have hands-on construction experience and daily exposure to work projects, with introduction to the following construction trades:

  • Electrical

  • Plumbing

  • Carpentry

  • Heating and Air

AMP LAB
AMP LAB at Electric Works is a program offered through FWCS for Juniors and Seniors, with AM and PM options. There are many openings for this program. Students must contact their school counselor to apply and be approved. This program can lead directly to employment. The programming is based on real problems and innovative approaches to problem solving. Studios offer opportunities for:

  • Creative ventures

  • Technical application

  • Business networking

  • Collaborative projects

  • Entrepreneur options

ANTHIS CAREER ACADEMY
Anthis Career Academy is offered through FWCS for Juniors and Seniors, with AM and PM options. Openings are limited, and students must contact their school counselor to apply and be approved. Certifications are possible with these courses. Programs include:

  • Software Development

  • Automotive

  • Fire Rescue

  • Civil Construction

  • Trades (Plumbing/Pipefitting)

  • Nursing

  • Radio/TV

  • Interactive Media

Career Scholarship Accounts - Funding Option

Funding options are now available for the Career Technical Academy courses through state-sponsored Career Scholarship Accounts (CSA). The first round of approvals begins on April 1, 2025 for all applications entered prior to that date. We strongly recommend completing the CSA application by April 1, 2025.
