Bishop Luers High School - Home of the Knights

In Mr. Davis’s AP US History class, students were studying the Market Revolution. Each group was given an invention from the early 1800s and they had to create an advertisement for their invention using TikTok, an Instagram Reel or a YouTube short. Once completed, the classes would watch their classmates’ advertisements on the tv and discuss the importance of each invention to the development of the United States. #LuersSpirit

BLHS seniors helped assist at the Diocesan All Schools Mass today at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum as parking attendants and ushers. Bishop Luers and Bishop Dwenger choir members and instrumentalists collaborated to provide the beautiful music for Mass, led by BLHS Choir Director Kris Andorfer. #LuersSpirit

BLHS Bowling had their first competition this past Wednesday! There was enough student participation this year to form teams. #LuersSpirit. #goknights

The BLHS Knights for Life club sponsored a student table and teacher table at the Northeast Indiana Right to Life Banquet last evening! Six of our students attended along with some of our teachers and staff and had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Ben Carson speak on the dignity of the human person. #LuersSpirit

Thank you to everyone who attended Mass for the Grandparent/Special Guest Day today at BLHS! Sophomores gave their grandparents roses and had the opportunity to take pictures with them and have refreshments afterwards. The only "normal" resident is Shotzie's granddaughter whose pizza delivering boyfriend is you guessed it an aspiring comedian. The action at Shotzie's becomes manic when bumbling kidnappers crash their van and take refuge there with their victim, a haughty socialite, in tow. Police surround the house and the unrestrainable comics are suddenly in the proximity of reporters' TV cameras. All hilarity breaks loose, on stage and in the audience! #LuersSpirit

Congratulations to Matt and Susan Schenkel, who received the 2023 Honorary Knight Award at Homecoming! Matt and Susan have been active members of this Luers community for many years. They have 7 children, 6 are graduates of Bishop Luers High school, with their youngest, Alex a senior this year. Their commitment to Bishop Luers High School began with their son Matt, who started here in 2004 and graduated in 2008. That is 20 years of volunteering, parenting, and serving in the Luers community. They have been loyal contributors to the band, choral, theater, and sports programs that they so loved watching their children participate in. For many years, Susan was an integral part of Luers Knight, where she was the head of many committees and chairperson for the event in 2008. Additionally, she served on the development committee. Matt was a member of our Finance Committee and highly involved with the beautification of our school. Together, they put countless hours into our past capital campaigns. Thank you, Matt and Susan, for your support of Bishop Luers High School! #LuersSpirit

Congratulations to John Felts (Class of '04) on receiving the 2023 Distinguished Knight Award! Principal Scott Kreiger presented this award at the Battle of the Bishops football game this past weekend. Felts is currently the BLHS Alumni Association Board President, as well as the photographer and social media coordinator for the football team. John’s commitment to and love for Bishop Luers High School was evident throughout his high school career. Most notably he was voted “Most School Spirit” of his senior class! His accolades include captain of the golf team and a member of the Show Choir all four years. He was a member of the football team, Future Business Leaders of America, a mentor, part of SADD, and on the Christmas Dance Court, Kings of the Court, and Homecoming Court. Thank you, John, for all that you do for Bishop Luers High School! #LuersSpirit

Students were learning the concepts of Desocialization and Resocialization in Sociology this morning. Mr. Davis questioned the students on what is considered a normal way to eat cereal. To demonstrate the concept of Desocialization, students were given cheerios and pasta noodles and were instructed, without using their hands, to pick up the cheerios with the pasta in their mouths and eat them instead of using a spoon. #LuersSpirit
